St Tydfil Llysworney

sits within the community

example

Unusual ground plan, pre-Reformation bell, pretty village setting with pond. Unknown to those who rush by on the main road through the village.

A central tower is unusual in the Vale. The offset tower arches make a view of the altar a real difficulty. Why was this built thus?

The bell is by John Goscelin of Bristol and is one of the 5% of pre-Reformation bells in Britain.

The former School House stands to the south.

The church is beautifully sited above the village pond. The pond never dries up.

Dramatically floodlit on occasion.
