St. Michael’s Church lies in a small valley in the Hamlet of Llanmihangel which is equidistant between the historic town of Llantwit Major to the south, and the market town of Cowbridge to the east.  This Medieval Church was first publicised in 1254 and to this day does not have any electricity, the only form of lighting being oil lamps.  It is situated opposite Llanmihanglel Plas, a Tudor Mansion that has featured in the television programme ‘Houses in Wales’, and which provides bed and breakfast.  A sloping path leads down to the Church which, with appropriate care, is suitable for wheelchair users.  Parking is available directly on the road alongside the Church.  A key can be obtained from Llanmihangel Plas opposite.
